Ryan Vasak, a Kayak Polo competitor, says the group started meeting about 20 years ago and he started playing in 1999. It’s a full boat contact sport, he says. “We use some glue and butterfly [bandages] every once in a while but nothing too serious,” he says. “We have an E.R. doctor who plays so no one really has to go to the hospital.”
