Shannon Gray performs at the Bellingham Circus Guild on April 15, 2011.  Gray first got involved with circus performing in Vancouver, British Columbia.  She says she has been performing aerials for two years.  "I love it," she says.  "It's about trying to inspire something."

Five neighboring families on McKenzie Avenue gather every spring and fall for yard-work parties.   On April 17, 2011 Miles Freelan (left), Gabe Hallett (center), and Sean Yanick help plant carnations in garden boxes. "The deer don't like [carnations]," said Hallett.  "They are poisonous to them so they stay away from the garden." 

Bob Keller works at the neighborhood yard-work party on McKenzie Avenue where he lives.  "We've been doing this for 12 years," said Bob's wife Pat Karlberg.  "The weather is always sunny for us!"
